elizabethmariep asked : do you have any tips on helping my hair grow faster

theres no miracle and patience is the key for that. What works a lot is castor oil and coconut oil massaging the scalp every time you clean your hair with natural conditioners or shampoos. This may seem silly but its NOT!massaging the scalp with your fingers [not nails] in circular movements activates the circulation of your head and blood and makes your hair grow more than half centimeter a month. I noticed that change when i started my hair journey i learned since the start to do that and my hair will grow fron my ears to below my shoulders in less than one year!  please check this video this girl says it all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTCnE80TLBI

Anonymous asked : Hey, lovely blog! So I have a couple questions that I couldn't find answered in the FAQs. Firstly, what are your thoughts on Morocco Oil? I've used it on and off and when I first put it in my hair, my curls get so shiny and smooth, but I feel like later on they become very dry. My other question is how do you re-vamp your curls after sleeping on them? I try not to wash my hair every day but I find myself always having to wear my hair up after sleeping on it cause the curls get flat and messy.

Hello! thanks :] So i never tried morrocco oil so i can’t say anything about it, sorry! but is it pure natural oil? (don’t ever use industrial oil, only natural and when you use it, don’t do it often, only when necessary cause oils tend to make curls heavy)

About the sleeping part, i put a silk pillowcase, cause the cotton absorbs all the conditioner from your hair. Sometimes [rare times] when i wash my hair at night i wake up and my hair is still good to go the next day [i just need to spray some water and define the curls with a pomade] but most of the times, i put my hair up the next day cause its so many hair and i’m such a perfeccionist that in don’t like spending all the day checking if my hair is perfect or not, so i don’t usually let my hair loosen these days. But i have a pomade that is soo good and i always spray my hair with water to define the curls and make it shiny and then i make a hairdo for the day and i’m ready to go [it’s important to protect your curls from the sun and survive the next day too! don’t go out without putting some leave-in or styler] and don’t wash your hair everyday, wash at least every 2 or 3 days! don’t worry about the next day, just be creative and try to mix different styles and enjoy the days you are with hair washed! :D [i think almost every curly girl suffers from the next day]

Hope i could help!

Anonymous asked : Hi! Since I haven't found anything in the FAQs section, here it goes: is amodimethicone really that bad for curly hair? I've been avoiding products with -cones and in my researches I've seen mixed opinions about this one. And also, what to do to prevent that hair in the top middle of my head from matting? It seems they just love each other so much they can't stay untangled. Thanks!

hello!!! so, amedicothicone is bad for your hair (its a silicone, insoluble to water) so its a no for no/low-poo method! It can only be off from your hair if you use the sodium bicarbonate (from curly girl lorraine massey) on your hair. Here is a link that can explain better for you:  http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/curl-products/curlchemist-amodimethicone-and-other-amine-functionalized-silicones and this one for a general knowing about silicones http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_M7raEecYIs/T3M33pSc3hI/AAAAAAAAA8c/QEsEafg6m8U/s1600/silicones11.jpg

And about the natural dry parts, every curly girl has it, the only thing i can say is moisturise moisturise and protein in that part [queratin 1 to 2x a month] and apply conditioner when untangling in the shower. Also style your hair with some gel [oatmeal seed gel is perfect] to make it defined and prevent from tangling.

Anonymous asked : Hi! I'm interested in obtaining a hairstyle similar to the two guys who are posted on your blog. Right now, I have a low fade and when it grows, it is very coarse and thick. Is it possible for me to turn this coarse, thick hair into a long, curly mane (like Deandre Brackensick's)?? Haha.

hi!! finally a guy on this blog ahaha :)

well, this happens a lot with curly hair (like mine) my back part is less curly than the rest of my hair.

So first, deandre and the other guy’ hairstyle are different. Deandre’s hair is a more common hairstyle, it’s like fully grown with almost no layers but the top back part is a little more shorter than the whole hair as you can see in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=-SNVVcOBoMM#t=81s)

And the other guy’s hair has more layers, like the short side bangs (that deandre doesn’t have) and the top hair is shorter than the under.

And also don’t expect things like your hair’s gonna be exactly like these two guys, because your cut could be the same, but your hair texture may be different, that’s why i can’t tell you it’ll be like deandre (that’s because personally it’s veery difficult to be born with deandre’s hair, where the curls are perfectly tight, voluminous and healthy oily shiny)

Make sure you have the right professional curly hairstylist to see the difference and the cut that you want!:D

curlygoddess-deactivated2012082 asked : Heyy! I've been having problems with my hair. I recently dyed my hair and also ive been washing it almost everyday and now my hair is really frizzy and dry. What can I do to make my curls more moisturized?

well, you need to buy a good line that keeps your curls moisturizes for a long period (i opt for the organic products) try to look at naturallycurly.com they have a loot of poroducts there, and i always say, never wash curly hair everyday (try to wash one to two days) because when you do that your hair loses its natural oils (and get frizzy)

and also, do a deep treatment with queratin once a month to repair proteins of your hair (this happens a lot with dyed hair) and you’ll notice it getting better.

Try using products as devacurl, ouidad, jessicurl, they are GREAT to recover hair moisture and protein.

Anonymous asked : I have botocelli curls, and they are really defined when my hair is short, but the bottom layers are weighed down by the top curls, and it just goes flat and poofy. And tips?

yeeah, curly hair has this thing: when short, the curls are more defined; when longer, the hair lose the curl a little more.

what you need is a better cut to your hair, to define the layers more. Go look for a professional curly hairdresse or look for pics of curly hair like yours to compare and inspire you to do a better cut (thats what i do) or even try new produts to define more your curls!

hope i could help :)
